What is Title 5?

Title 5 is a piece of the Massachusetts State Environmental Code, which regulates septic systems as well as the moving and disposing of waste.

For more information about Title 5 and Massachusetts State requirements for household septic, check out the MassDEP website.

Do I need a Title 5?

If you are a homeowner looking to buy or sell, dig for a pool, or wanting to remodel or add on to your home, you will need a Title 5 report completed by a qualified inspector.

Our team provides an extensive Title V inspection for homeowners who require it. One of our inspectors will schedule a time to come to your property and conduct a thorough inspection, this typically takes 1-2 hours.

We then generate a report for you which is given to your local town offices. This will give them all the necessary information they need to either pass or fail your property’s Title 5.

If you are in need of a Title 5 inspection, contact us online or call 508-869-6431.

How long is my Title 5 good for?

Title 5 reports are in good standing for 2 years after your inspection. If you have proof of having your septic system pumped each year, your Title 5 may extend to up to 3 years.

How much does a septic system cost?
